The UAE Women’s cricket team is standing on the threshold of a transformative era. Starting this November, the national side is set to experience a “new dawn” with the arrival of highly acclaimed coach **Oscar Nauhaus**. As reported by **Business Promotion24**, Nauhaus will officially take charge of the UAE Women’s National Team as the head coach, bringing a wealth of international experience and a proven track record of success.
### A Decorated Career Transitions to the UAE
At just 38 years old, Oscar Nauhaus arrives with over a decade of coaching experience spanning grassroots development, high-performance systems, and international competition. He replaces the interim coach, Shubha Venkatraman, who has been managing the team during a crucial transition period.
Nauhaus is no stranger to the pressure of the international stage. His recent stint as the High-Performance Manager at Cricket Namibia saw him instrumental in shaping the next generation of talent. His resume includes coaching the Namibia U19 Men’s team to a successful qualification for the 2024 ICC U19 Men’s World Cup and serving as part of the support staff for the Namibian senior men’s team during the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
### Why Oscar Nauhaus is the Right Fit
The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) conducted an extensive search to fill this pivotal role, receiving over 100 applications from around the globe. Nauhaus stood out not only for his technical expertise but also for his deep understanding of the local landscape. He previously worked at the Zayed Cricket Academy in Abu Dhabi and was involved with Team Abu Dhabi in the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.
With a strong background in Sport Science, Nauhaus focuses on more than just technique; he is known for building positive team environments and fostering holistic player development.
### Building on Recent Success
The UAE Women’s team has already shown they are a force to be reckoned with. Their performance in the recently concluded Women’s Asia Cup highlighted their resilience. Despite tough matches against cricketing giants like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the UAE girls secured a morale-boosting victory against Indonesia.
Expressing his excitement, Nauhaus stated: *”It is indeed a great honour to take charge of the incredibly talented UAE Women’s National Cricket Team. UAE cricket is surely on the rise, exemplified by the team’s fine performances in the Women’s Asia Cup. My aim will be to build further on the good work done by my predecessor and take the team to the next level.”*
### What’s Next for UAE Women’s Cricket?
As Nauhaus prepares to travel to Dubai next week to commence his stint, expectations are high. The combination of his international pedigree and the raw talent within the UAE squad suggests a significant surge in performance is on the horizon.
